First time dying

Well I finally did my first dying job. I used a paint brush for all of the items and I salt dyed the multi coloured thin ribbon. I am quite pleased with how it turned out and look forward to more play time with the paint. It is a great way to colour your lace and ribbon in matching colour hues. The paints I'm using are more like a dye called Setacolour paints. I'ts a lot quicker than I thought it would be too.

Larna, your dying looks great. I love the colors, they are so soft and the hue is just right. How do you salt dye? And you painted each ribbon? Oh my the work... but the gorgeous results.
Your picnic looks like a beautiful place. A place of inspiration. What a wonderful family you have. So thoughtful. Keep me posted on your dying. OK! Sharon

Sharon, to salt dye you just sprinkle salt over the just painted silk and let dry. After it's dry just brush the salt off. You can do this on fabric as well.
We haven't had a picnic together like this for ages, so it was a real treat.
